the simple fact that there still hotly debated is proof that there stil overpowered the remarks i made ont eh old baord that were being referenced were that i know WHY golems were added
they were added to footmen frenzy simply to provide heros without a stun to have a way to stun that wouldnt die instantly
however with custom hero footmen EVERYONE can get a stun therefore there use in that function is no longer needed
if you want further evidence of how hard they are to balance well over half of the footmen maps that used them have REMOVED them completely because there nearly impossible to balance
so a unit that was ment to be a hard to kill stun is constantly used and abused as a hero lock down group
once a decent player has 3-4 of them then can keep any hero locked down untill dead
which is certainly NOT the intention
the only solution aside from removing thm would be making it so that a person could not obtain more than 2 of them so they cannot gain that crusial number of 3+ allowing them to totaly lock down heros til dead
