As a muslim i do believe in heaven and hell and i do believe their is an after life and all living things have souls, infact the only thing that seperates muslims and christians is jesus, muslims believe jesus was just another prophet that was sent by God and christians believe jesus was God or son of God. i can debate that point, and prove it wrong as i have done with the catholic religious education teachers since i went a catholic shool...but i cant be bothered... end of the day u respect my beliefs and ideas and i will respect urs... easy enough? Religion, Beliefs, Tastes, Colors are all debatable. We each have our own beliefs and religion (or not) to rely on to guide our daily actions. Just like John, I do believe in all of those, but that does not mean that I am eagerly reject others beliefs. I am quite open minded, and willing to learn new things. After all knowledge is the door to new horizons

You can't prove it wrong. You also can't prove that he was just a prophet. Even to that extent, you can't prove that he was a prophet at all, or anything more than a teacher with great values. Do you claim to be wiser than Descartes? than Aquinas? than Augustine? than Kant? than Dostoevsky?
Or from the atheistic perspective, wherein philosophers have been unable to repudiate that Jesus was the Son of God, are you greater than Hobbes? than Sartre? than Russell? than Nietzsche?

It is a long-accepted common stance that the concept of God is, effectually, impossible to both prove and disprove. The nature of this concept, of an immaterial, omniscient, omnipotent being that works outside the accepted laws of nature (these being gravity, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, chaos theory, etc.) is such that it is not only unfathomable but also futile to attempt to fathom it. Since God cannot be proved or disproved, faith becomes the dividing line.
Faith can be viewed as a certainty in something which one cannot prove to be true. Both theists and atheists display faith, one way or another, in the way that they live their lives and devote their time. The devout individual will live their life in anticipation of an afterlife, while the atheist will be certain that there is no afterlife, and not worry about immaterial consequences.
The point is, I have many atheistic friends, while I myself am a Christian. I do not judge them based on their atheism; in fact, I relish the perspective and the way that this faith defines their personality.
