You dont have to get paid to be pro, thats a huge argument people ALWAYS HAVE. honestly it just depends on what scale you go to, if you say pro on wc3 (ladder) then yes only the people getting paid, the only other game based on wc3 is dota which has moved on. But when comparing to chf, the most pro you can get is to win your games and be in a clan, being in a clan honestly makes everyone "pro" for a low end game.
same thing applies to sports. Hell most non-popular sports they get paid nothing other than sponsorships like sponsoring equipment etc.
