in fact 90% of the amazing special effects techniques visualy and in sound we have these days are a DIRECT result of the starwars movies furthermore it has expanded over the years into hundreds of novels , dozens of comic series ,several animated series (2 of which are massivly award winning)
even a few spinoff movies
not to mention a multi-BILLION dollar toy and product industy all of which has spanned more than 30 YEARS since the first movie hit theaters in the late 70's
NO other movie or franchise can even come CLOSE to it
