That doesn't make it useless.. That's how the elo system was created and supposed to be used. It isn't useless, just like any invention. Just because someone made a butter knife that's meant to cut butter but can't cut leather doesn't make it useless.
We aren't even really arguing, I'm just wondering why you are saying his system is inaccurate, when in reality no one is using the system correctly. You shouldn't have been calling his understanding of the elo system wrong, but rather the use of the elo system being wrong. Or the elo system itself not working under these circumstances.
