Hornbostel-Sachs

Erich von Hornbostel and Curt Sachs adopted Mahillon's scheme and published an extensive new scheme for classification in Zeitschrift für Ethnologie in 1914. Hornbostel and Sachs used most of Mahillon's system, but replaced the term autophone with idiophone.[103]

The original Hornbostel-Sachs system classified instruments into four main groups:
Idiophones, which would be an instrument that you could hit, strike, shake or scrape – such as the xylophone and rattle. They produce sound by vibrating themselves; they are sorted into concussion, percussion, shaken, scraped, split, and plucked idiophones.[105]
Membranophones, which would be an instrument that uses a stretched skin, or membrane (key word being "stretched")such as drums or kazoos, produce sound by a vibrating membrane; they are sorted into predrum membranophones, tubular drums, friction idiophones, kettledrums, friction drums, and mirlitons.[106]
Chordophones, which would be an instrument that uses stretched string or cord – such as the piano orcello, produce sound by vibrating strings; they are sorted into zithers, keyboard chordophones, lyres, harps, lutes, and bowed chordophones.[107] Aerophones, which would be an instrument that you produce a sound by blowing air into – such as the pipe organ or oboe, produce sound by vibrating columns of air; they are sorted into free aerophones, flutes, organs, reedpipes, and lip-vibrated aerophones.[108]

Sachs later added a fifth category, electrophones, such as theremins, which produce sound by electronic means.[109] Within each category are many subgroups. The system has been criticised and revised over the years, but remains widely used by ethnomusicologists and organologists.[110]

I didn't give up actually, I just proved my point to the extent that it actually needed to be proved (a lá David Hume). But, as you've proven in the past, you like to Google things you know nothing about in order to stoke the embers. So, I'll reiterate my point:

It has become clear than neither of you have even involved in an orchestra before, and have likely never seen one in concert. I encourage you to go to see one so that you may observe the piano either nestled in with the percussions or taking center stage. If you can find me any instance of the piano being used at this level as a string instrument, then I will concede my point.

Piano is indeed in the string category, however, it is never used as a string instrument. Trixx, you are absolutely right about piano being nestled in with the percussions or taking center stage. 65% of the time, piano is use as the center stage, and the other 35% it is used in the percussions category (depend on what instrument the main musician plays)
