Guys every race is useful at every tier depending on the game and what you're up against... if u black arrow, death pact, donation the ghoulds help but other than that i never pick them first, rifles, archers, banshees all great early game for stun/surrounders or air defence, grunts awesome HP great for many things like overunning a base right after mass or great for wanting to up your dmg/armor without tiering.
Militia and skeletal warriors can get alot of HP awesome for donation, overunning/base killing, surrounding. Crypt fiends awesome range, has stomp vs melle and net! the best air defence for tier 2, also works well with black arrow (since your minions get the undead racial upgrade) or death pact. Huntresses can have great range, glaive attack pwns, works well for stun/immobilize kills especially with heal wave or true shot, able to shadowmeld. Headhunters descent range, can get exta HP and their beserk pwns, they can fight air, units, heroes, and bases well.
Spellbreakers can get high HP. spawn quickly, feedback, great for donation, hero killing, base killing. Kodos can have awesome HP they have quick movement speed, they're smaller so can surround heroes and bases very well while still pwning units quickly and also have beserk! Raiders almost the same as kodos except a little bit bigger but I think they basekill a little bit faster than the kodo and also look cooler. Druids the best range of tier 3, attack fast, in numbers they pwn heroes, air units and land units even better with a frontline very good at basekilling as they can stay away from tower attacks and spread out from aoe dmg. Skeletal mages, amazing attack speed, improved hp and spell defence, awesome for base defence, awesome vs air, great for donation, if you keep these little guys alive they can basekill very quickly, descent vs units as they can stomp, go beserk, and have huge numbers.
Knights very fast moving units with great HP, fast attack rate with feedback makes them great vs summons and heroes, their ability to stun makes them great vs units also but cant hit air. Mortar Bombers, can attack very quickly, descent HP, devotion aura, and frenzy allows them to HK, UK, and BK very well. Tauren have awesome HP and can pulvarize they hold up well for defending your base vs most attacks and they're great vs melee units but not the greatest vs maulers and cant hit air. Keep these guys alive when you're trying to BK and it should be GG. Abominations have great HP and awesome attck dmg and armor, they move and attack very fast and their poison cloud rapes, with upgraded racials these guys will BK very fast, pwn towers, if you can spread them around good they'll pwn other units, awesome with death pact or black arrow. Dryads, their range is the best, nice attack rate, with good numbers they can pwn other units you just got to keep an eye on your frontline as they dont have the greatest HP or armor, shifting units back as you fight or keeping the front healed and you should pwn, they can BK very well because they almost dont need to be in your base to do it.
With a pack of each tier 5 Mortar Bombers are the best, they have great range, armor, attack dmg, attack rate, definitely the fastest at BKing, Tauren are not far behind these guys also BK very well and they're pulvarize is no joke vs other tiers. Dryads with their unbelievable range and damage can BK quickly while staying out of damage, at the same time reaching workers, towers, heroes, air units, altars, etc. Knights awesome HP very fast attack with feedback and bash make these guys hold up well vs other tiers, their quick movement speed makes it easy for them to surround heroes, units, spread around bases and get back and forth to bases. Same with Abominations their poison, high damage, high HP, and very fast attack rate allows them to hold up well vs other tiers and quicky BK, they move around very quickly, if you can spread their poison and attack dmg throughout your enemies units instead of just staying in a frontline you'll have much more success. The thing with tier 5 is, ranged units just get shit done quicker, for every 1 tauren infront trying to hit a dryad or mortar bomber there's 3 or 4 behind doing nothing while the ranged is behind steady damaging, If your choosing melee to go up against ranged make sure you have the better upgrades, vampiric aura, can heal, and remember if they have an altar sitting by shop you wont be able to reach it and you will kill towers alot slower than ranged.
I like all the races, after you've played soo many games it's definitely alot funner to switch things up and pwn your enemies in a variety of ways, rather than a couple simple strategies you already know works the best for you. Doing this will also help you find awesome new builds and strategies, it makes you work harder for the win and comeback thirsty for more experimentation. it makes you appreciate your win way more because its not just another normal win and will make you an overall better player.
