| idk if mauler is the correct name for this kind of heros 
i give you an idea of my combo for range hero
sometimes i change the aura for trueshot but its depends of the mode

tich meh searing arrow cold strike multi shot shaman for bloodlust and lightning shield and jammy for healing and rejuv. if undead hero, the shaman can heal, also use the purge to slow down the target hero and firebolt to stun Added (04-Apr-2014, 4:18 PM)

incin tich meh drunken/crit/divine shield and avatar
my fave tho, not really a mauler, but i like ww crit stomp, lighnitng shield + bloodlust(from shaman) soldier mask for stun.

| For me, I think this is the best combo in normal game 
Range:
Inner Fire, Antimagic shield, Tichmeh, Multiarrow
Inner Fire = More damage than trueshot and has 25 defense (A LOT more damage than trueshot)
Anti magic = Because of bolt hoggers
Tichmeh = Cause we all know this aura is op
Melee:
Tichmeh, Incinerate, Divine, Avatar
Divine = Cause I want to live desperately. You can substitute this for illusions if u you cleave or if not, just get windwalk or bolt or just wtvr
Tichmeh = Cause op aura...duhhh
Incinerate = Cleave in normal game su1ks. We arent vsing darks early game :P
For range maulers, usually, I just stack a bunch of circlets/slippers and 1 1500 gold item from altar shop (The one that makes your attack speed go up by a certain percentage (forgot name)) and a mask of death
For melee maulers, usually, I just stack a bunch of claws and circlets/slippers, a mask of death and maul of corruption
IDK, this is the best build I think is for overall chf in normal games nowadays
btw, range maulers I find in normal desperately need antimagic shield. Too many banish bolt coil hoggers :l
(i usually use shaman at start of game to level up. I sometimes use ice shards in the process and hog around with pet even when not using mana for some reason (ehh, instinct))

| ^firehand gauntlets, classic 4.2 wep. i think it adds 15-20% attack speed + 9 armor. yeah, circlets or the axe(forgot name) seem better sometimes. The thing with inner fire is that it can be dispelled.
incinerate is good for early game and cleave for late game(IMO), since it helps u feed faster.

| in my opinion firlord is my favorite mauling hero
i use these skills: anti magic shield , dark flame , and endurance or tichmeh , and multishot.
tbh i cant remember when i lost with these skills

(endurance cant stack once ur agi is that high...ur at ur agi max, endurance wont be useful :P )
and instead of bash, wouldnt evasion or panda defense thingy or critical strike be better? xDD

Cleave bad in start of the game, because you need to somehow accumulate gold for it is the best :
Incinerate, with suport aura (aura endurance i need in start), and avatar
bash : extra damage and stun helping kill heroes and can not escape because stun non-stop, i Like :d ,for me beter and more fun den critical strike,or evasion.
CHF for life :) ^^

| There are lots of different ways to play a mauler.
With a ranged one, against pubs, the best build is Tichmeh / Trueshot / Bloodlust / Multiarrows. With that get lightspeed shoes, death mask and claws +100 and it's gg against pubs.
With a melee one, against pubs, I think that cleave is the best. However there was a build I used to play a lot back in the days, it was Incinerate / Critical strike / tichmeh, the ult didn't really matter. In early game you can easily kill all the foots you want and it does pretty awesome damage against heroes.
Now a stunning build can be funny too. Like Bash / Bloodlust / Tichmeh / multiarrows, etc. Get slippers of agility, cause the soldiers mask doesn't stack that well, I've tryed it and it didn't convince me.
Anyway I'd say that maulers suck, and that you can only play them in SSD mode if you're against decent players. Otherwise it's a fail 90% of time.
Btw against pubs I also used to play Tichmeh / Mirror image / bash / multiarrows, taking the Ring of auras and then classic mauler items. It's very fun to play, though it sucks if people know how to dispell. Still, it's pretty annoying for your enemies.
