| In bnet games APM is a factor of skill, Gruddy have like 10 time more APM then us.
But in a custom game, it's nothing.
In a TD u can be so strong whis 10 APM
In utherParty u can be so noob whis 300 APM ( Click Click Click games)
APM is only for Bnet games, not for custom games

yes but im sure you tab over which is cool I don't like it I get confused, maybe if I practice.
noob, instead of tabbing u create multiple groups. . . this is inefficient(see the problem you stated with your frost tower)

key 6 - towers (sometimes i miss click though trying to get to 6 its a big reach)

lots of different kinds of units
heros (especially if 1 player leaves), newts, golems, shamans, lizzards, turtles, tier units... :l
But really, everyone plays with different style ^^
The thing with warcraft is, once you get used to your set hotkeys, you really should not have problems winning games, even with a really really inefficient method.
Look at me, I NEVER use F1 and I don't have trouble controlling my hero.

Depends, tabs are more useful when your goleming with like
lots of different kinds of units

| for me pet is 9. It's not like I need to check up on it every 2 seconds since I normally know where it is at.
My setup presently
1) Hero always 1 for me. Must I say more? Without a hero you jut wont win hence it's #1 priority. If I use golems, all I really need is are newts, some reveals and of course my golem children.
2) is base for quick upgrades. Or my shade/ owl if I am using golems if I do have a shade, then I would hotkey my base as 4
3) frost towers.
other hotkeys extending beyond 3 (with the exception of my number 2) are for other creeps that help but not win. Ie: rats, blanks, turtles, etc. Depends if I buy em.
My apm normally sits at around 100-200 per game well it would be a solid 100-150 if I didn't right click as much. I spam right click like a motherfucker.
If I do have advice for efficiency guys, do get comfortable with tab click. I used to have more control groups than I do now and it was kind of drag sometimes since everything is isolated, hence more vulnerability when I go out. Tab clicking, even if you don't use it, might as well get good with it so you don't need to create so many control groups, and far click and you can probably set up a more efficient approach later.

| My apm is 120 in casual games and 160 in serious games
Hot keys
1: hero, tech, golem, newt, shaman, blank, wizard, vengeance
2: pet (I'm #1 best pet hog on battlenet)
3: frost towers
4: rats
5: base
6: jammy
7: peasent
I know it's not the most efficient way but I'm just used to it cause I played like this for years

| Real apm my one hand:
A lot of times I use only the mouse and fun to me. 
Fun games and enjoy, apm around 60-90.
Real apm my two hand:
My apm depends on me, so sometimes I have :
70-120 amp because when I press only need 
120-200 apm comes to spamming for me,and fun only 50% 
200 + apm 
Yea I have more replay where I have 200 + apm same, but honestly me spam hotkeys like crazy, Ha,ha,ha .
