HELP I INSTALLED WINDOWS 7 AND NOW I CAN'T CONNECT TO INTERNET.....
This is very common with installations of a new OS or an upgrade to a newer OS. I am guessing that this is a laptop... if not, tell me...lol
1. Turn on your laptop
2. Put on your batteries
3. Breath
4. Wait for OS to start up
5. Turn on another computer and repeat the steps 1-4
6. Get a USB or something that can transfer files (mp3 players or ipods work fine too although reformat can sometimes => erase all ur data )
7. Check your LAPTOP model
8. go use the other laptop and go to your laptop company name ("Samsung", " Lenovo", etc.) website
9. In the search bar or anywhere else, type/find update hardware
10. Type your model (Mine is X-193SX)
11. After going to the hardware thingy website, download WIFI (inthernet, ethernet, ethernet adapter, wireless g, wireless n, etc.)
12. transfer to usb
13. plug it in and BAM
14. drag the file to ur windows 7 laptop and install it (double click)
15. restart your windows 7 laptop (TAKE OFF THE BATTERY for a few sec and then restart)
16. If still not detected, restart AGAIN
17. After that and still no work, go to
Start button
Right click on "MY COMPUTER" and select "MANAGE" (This brings up the manager of the computer)
Now on the left side, go to "system tools: => "device manager" => SELECT DRIVER U WANT TO UPDATE (wifi or ethernet) => Right click on it and "UPDATE DRIVER SOFTWARE"
if this doesnt work, uninstall the driver software (wifi or ethernet driver) in the device manager and redo the steps "DO NOT CLICK IGNORE HARDWARE CRAP".. just only delete softwareAdded (2012-03-15, 1:31 PM)
---------------------------------------------
U must have installed the driver SOFTWARE from the company website before doing this.
or google search the software
*and check if u didnt by mistake disable ethernet/wifi service (just take out the battery or plug and restart it if u dont know how)
IF NONE OF THESE WORK, go back to ur factory settings
search that up if u dont know what that is cause im lazy
