i got a pretty nice mauler build here (the one i always use): Incinerate Tichmez aura Mirror images Avatar. Max out images and incinerate then each mirror will be strong and u can base kill ppl easy
inc and cleave together is fail, its either one or the other this account is currently being shared by xmonsterrr and cyray. if i say something nice, its probably cyray so please disregard it.
The one you forget Bond is Tich meh, incinerate, divine shield, avatar. It was originally Fallen's mauling build.
As for the topic.
Against everything other than upped darks incinerate is better, against upped darks a tanked out cleave mauler does slightly more, but they'll both end up killing a full group within the limits of divine shield.
Fun fact of the day, it's fully possible for a rod of envy to create a mauler that's fully immune to all damage and spells for 2 minutes.
well, actually against uped dark driads or mortar teams, it's pretty hard. Cause, just 1 scroll of beast and you are dead even in ava. (i mean if you atack enemy's base full of them) My builds are: Quick game against pubs: cleave+inc+ww (you lvl up hell quick, and on lvl 7 you kill all foots in a few seconds) Harder against skilled, or if there is some skilled mauler against me: bash inc ww The best one but the hardest (best,cause it pwn ффаеук you got lvl 13, if you can, and it owns like hell in late) Tichmerz to lvl 6, Cleave to lvl 6 + bash\inc (use priest to get invis and shaman for bloodlust)
Tichmerz+cleave is a great way to handle darks. Tichmerz will grant you huge dammage to enemies, so actually bash isn't required, but if there is some good mauler or hk mage, i will take bash, to control him.
Added (2011-01-27, 9:19 Am) --------------------------------------------- Mind, that crit\drunken and splash doesn't stack. If you take them both, splash will be decreased to 50%! So crit+splash builds are a FAIL.
Dark dryads and dark aboms are the preferable targets of a proper mauler since they can't up their health and you can clear a base of them, even with a skill set like either that you have invisible potion/ww to the base, invulnerable potion when there, clear out dark dryads for free. Dark mortars however are IMO the best unit against maulers. High health, ranged, ability to work in tandem with Newt to remove maulers from the face of the planet.
